Workforce: Sector workers get Queen's honours

Children's sector professionals were well represented in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Those receiving knighthoods included: Torquil Norman, founder of theRoundhouse Trust, a charity providing music and arts activities foryoung people in London; Jim Rose, education expert and former directorof inspection at Ofsted; and Charles Gray, North Lanarkshire's educationchief.

Hugh Mackintosh, director of Barnardo's Scotland, and Derek Twine, chiefexecutive of the Scout Association, were among those receiving CBEs.
