Workforce development: More investment for support services

1 min read

Hilary Ellam told delegates at the Young People Now Foundation annual conference last week that the council had been unable to recruit a manager to help organisations implement Youth Matters, but had re-drafted the job description. It plans to advertise again in the new year.

Ellam said the council faced challenges in developing support for learning, development and support services, which comprises Connexions personal advisers, education welfare officers and learning mentors. "We probably haven't invested enough time in them and we'll do that from April onwards," she said.

The council is funding the National Association of Connexions Partners to hold four joint events next March for youth workers, Connexions personal advisers, education welfare officers and learning mentors.
