Workforce development: Skills council wants more service input

1 min read

Lifelong Learning UK is setting up the Community Learning and Development Constituency Panel to represent the arm of the sector that includes youth work.

The 25-member panel, which starts meeting in February, will advise the council on what employers will need in terms of workforce development and training provision, as well as acting as a conduit for concerns from the youth work sector.

Members will also help shape a Sector Skills Agreement for youth work and related professions, outlining skill needs and how they will be supplied over the next 10 years. Consultation will include meetings with the Children's Workforce Development Council to discuss the impact of the Government's proposed youth support teams on workforce development.
