What's the area like?

A recent local authority survey showed people who live and work in Cumbria feel they have a better quality of life than others in the UK. Urban centres include Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven, Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness.

- And the working culture?

Hard-working and dedicated to improving outcomes for young people. A recent staff survey found that more than 90 per cent ofemployees feel high standards are expected of them, that innovation is encouraged, and that Connexions Cumbria is a good and supportive employer. There is a strong motivational team culture, with a buddying scheme for new recruits.
