Work Wise: What it's like to work for ... Crime Concern

- Where is it based?

The crime prevention charity's central services headquarters are at recently refurbished offices in Swindon but its 550 paid members of staff and 650 volunteers work across 60 other sites nationally.

- What's the work environment like?

At project level, there's a real buzz as project workers, co-ordinators and managers engage and recruit young people for a wide range of workshops and activities, often in partnership with other agencies. The enthusiasm and passion of staff is infectious. The central services team tries to get out and meet colleagues at the projects and programmes.

- What types of roles are available?

Openings for volunteers and sessional workers are available at project level, such as Barnet's Action 4 Youth and there are roles ranging from trainee youth worker to project co-ordinator, right the way through to chief executive.
