Brian Lightman has been appointed president of the Association of School and College Leaders 2007/08. Lightman has over 28 years experience in head teaching at schools in Wales and the South East.

Roy Endacott has joined Chicks (County Holidays for Inner City Kids) as chief executive after supporting the charity in a voluntary capacity for several years. Endacott was previously chief executive of the Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon.

Social work expert Jeff Fowler is to join care provider Progressive Care as a consultant. Fowler has more than 30 years experience in the sector and has written books on child protection and family assessment.

Nottinghamshire County Council has appointed Jackie Ward as a teenage pregnancy co-ordinator. Ward was formerly training and development officer for young people's sexual health and replaces Sue Jablonskas.

Sally Rees has been appointed development worker for the Care Co-ordination Network UK in Wales.Her new post will involve promoting key working for disabled children and their families. Rees was previously a development officer for speech and language charity Afasic Cymru.
