McAleer has spent the majority of his career as a teacher and is currently lecturing part-time at Omagh College, County Tyrone. He is also a governor at three primary schools, a member of the board of management of Strule Arts Centre and a member of Omagh District Council since 2005.
YMCA Central Hertfordshire has appointed Andrew Ginn as youth work development manager. Ginn takes up the post next month and will be based at the organisation's offices in Welwyn Garden City. The charity provides housing for vulnerable people and offers IT and nursery services for the wider community.
Rainer, the youth charity that provides support services for vulnerable young people, has appointed Patrick McCardell as employment support worker at Rainer South East Training. He previously worked for Rainer Supported Accommodation in Lincolnshire.
