It runs several programmes that seek to work with local, community-based organisations. Launched in 1987, The Youth or Adult? Initiative has supported more than 200 projects and claims to be the longest running programme of its kind. Funding for key worker posts and a skills apprentice scheme is also available. Grants are restricted to UK causes.
How much is on offer? The beneficiaries of Rank's youth programmes receive £2m a year. The training available is undertaken by YMCA George Williams College.
What will it fund? The Youth or Adult? Initiative will fund a project's salary, management, administration and activity costs. Key worker post funding will cover a particular job and post-related training. The skills apprentice scheme will support an individual's training.
