The majority of its grants are awarded through its Achievement and Leader Awards Scheme, but the foundation also gives cash through project grants, major grants and sponsorship schemes.
How much is on offer: The 2007 budget is £12m. Grants worth more than £27m have been given over the past seven years.
What it will fund: The foundation is eager to encourage 11- to 25-year-olds to get involved with their local communities. It will fund youth organisations and schemes that address the issues faced by young people from ethnic minority groups. The foundation will also fund any youth club or group offering positive opportunities for young people, as well as the training of youth workers.
