What it is: The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, registered in 1997, was formed out of a trust operated by the Council of Forte plc, which inherited investments in the Granada Group.

The foundation currently distributes around 2m worth of grantseach year, with an average grant of 5,000. In 2005/06, theTrusthouse Charitable Foundation awarded more than 300 grants totalling2.11m.

How much is on offer: Grants of up to 30,000 are available.However, most of the grants given are below 10,000.

What it will fund: The foundation has two grants programmes. The smallgrants scheme is for capital and revenue grants under 10,000.This scheme is only for organisations with an annual income of less than300,000. The money is for one-off purposes and must be spentwithin six months of receiving it. The grant can be used for equipmentor small capital works. Requests for less than 5,000 may befast-tracked.
