Funding Watch - The Wolfson Foundation

What is it? The Wolfson Foundation is a charitable trust set up in 1953.

How much is on offer? About £35m a year. Trustees make awards twice a year.

What will it fund? The foundation aims to support excellence in arts and humanities, education, science and technology, and healthcare. Its schools programme supports the teaching of science and technology in independent, foundation, voluntary-aided and voluntary-controlled schools and sixth form colleges. Its healthcare programme makes grants for capital projects at special needs organisations and hospices.

Who can apply? Registered charities or organisations with charitable status in the UK. Grants are usually only made when matching funding has been raised or pledged. Those interested in applying for a grant should first write and find out if their project is eligible.
