Trusthouse Charitable Foundation

Funding for organisations working to address rural issues, urban deprivation and mental health issues for prisoners and ex-offenders

Funding Grants of up to £30,000 are available, but the average grant is £6,000. The foundation currently awards around 350 grants a year, to a total of about £2m. There are three schemes: large grants scheme (£10,000 to £30,000); small grants scheme (between £5,000 and £10,000) and fast-track scheme (under £5,000).

Funder The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, registered in 1997, was formed out of a trust operated by the Council of Forte plc, which inherited investments in the Granada Group.

Aim There are three themes: rural issues, urban deprivation and mental health issues for prisoners and ex-offenders.

Who can apply? Local and national charities or not-for-profit organisations addressing issues under the three themes. Projects cited under rural issues include contact networks for young disabled people, under urban deprivation youth clubs are mentioned.
