Woodward Charitable Trust

Grants for charities supporting the trust's key priorities, which include disability, ex-offenders and addiction

Funding Each year, the trust makes up to 10 large grants of £10,000 to £50,000 in its five key priority areas. Up to 50 smaller grants are made down to a minimum of £100 across all eight priority areas. Around 30 to 40 grants of between £500 to £2,000 are given each year for children's summer play schemes. In 2006/2007 grants totalling £395,861 were paid to 92 organisations.

Funder Created in 1988, this is one of the Sainsbury Family Trusts, which share a common administration but are otherwise independent.

Aim The trust currently has five core priorities: Travellers, prisoners and ex-offenders, addiction, homelessness, and domestic violence. There are three further categories that may also be considered: disability, local arts outreach work, and distinctive environmental education projects. It also funds children's summer playschemes.
