London charity Community Action has been shortlisted for 68,000 from the Big Lottery Fund. The Juniper Crescent Play Project hopes to win The People's Millions to redevelop communal areas on the Juniper Crescent Estate, Camden.

Young people with big ideas about how to improve society are being invited to enter CHANGEit, a competition to win £750 to help with a campaigning idea. www. commonpurpose.org.uk/changeit

Merseyside Youth Association has received £481,852 from the Big Lottery Fund for a five-year project, which will fund expansion of services in Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley, and train youth workers.

The Welsh Assembly has pledged more than £800,000 to encourage youth volunteering in disadvantaged and minority communities. Visit www.wcva.org.uk.
