Work Wise: Funding briefs

The Children's Parliament in the Scottish Western Isles has secured 175,891 from the Big Lottery's Young People's Fund. The cash will allow the parliament to extend its work into the Southern Isles. www.biglotteryfund.org.uk

Young people aged 13 to 19 can apply for grants of up to £5,000 from Peterborough Youth Bank to fund projects that benefit the local community. www.youthcandoit.org.uk

The Big Lottery Fund has awarded nearly £17,000 to four Welsh youth projects developed by young people, including a boxing club. www.biglotteryfund.org.uk

A Scottish Government grant scheme is to fund projects for young people tackling alcohol, drugs, violence and antisocial behaviour. The scheme, which is run by YouthLink Scotland, opens to applications in April. www.youthlink.co.uk.
