Work Wise: Funding briefs

- The Big Lottery Fund is likely to cut the number of funding programmes it offers from 2009. Outgoing chief executive Stephen Dunmore said they will become more straightforward and less specific. www.biglotteryfund.org.uk

- Flintshire County Council is inviting grant applications of up to £25,000 from community groups. Smaller grants of up to £1,000 are also on offer. www.flintshire.gov.uk

- Futurebuilders England has said it is "extremely disappointed" by the Cabinet Office's decision to appoint the Adventure Capital Fund to manage the second phase of the Futurebuilders Fund. www.futurebuilders-england.org.uk

- The Gwynedd Community Chest Fund has awarded cash to several projects, including almost £6,000 to turn derelict land into a football pitch. www.gwynedd.gov.uk.
