Barningham Parish Council in Suffolk has been awarded 10,000 by the Big Lottery Fund to redevelop its community playground, with equipment for children from 18 months to 14-years-old.

Bradford Disability Sport and Leisure is to receive £136,681 from the Big Lottery Fund to offer support and sports activities to disabled young people who are making the transition from school to adult life.

Investment bank Lehman Brothers has pledged £1m to the charity Every Child a Chance to establish a national literacy programme called Every Child Counts, which will help disadvantaged children.

Black and minority ethnic communities in Cambridgeshire are to receive more than £400,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to improve community cohesion, by running basic skills and education projects.
