Work Wise: Funding briefs

Free solar panels have been offered to 60 schools by the Co-operative Group as part of its Green Energy for Schools initiative. The Co-operative has already spent 1m fitting panels at 100 schools and has now earmarked a further 1m for the initiative. www.co-operative.coop/greenenergyforschools.

Legacy Trust UK has given £13.4m to a range of cultural and sports projects. These include workshops to get disabled young people in Wales involved in music and performance art. www.legacytrust.org.

A project to help people with learning disabilities access mainstream leisure services and a project to revamp a park are among several groups in Wales set to benefit from a Big Lottery Fund grant awarded last week. The People and Places programme gave £2,238,778 to 13 projects in Wales. www.biglotteryfund.org.uk.
