Work Wise: Funding briefs

Community Safety Partnerships in Scotland are to receive 1m to reduce violence in towns and cities over the festive period. Projects will include an initiative to reduce young people's access to alcohol.

- Trusts in the UK are giving charities over 250 per cent more today than 15 years ago. Giving has increased above inflation, with the top 25 trusts donating £959m in the past year. www.trustfunding.org.uk

- Natural England's Access to Nature project has been awarded £25m by the Big Lottery Fund. The cash will form a grant scheme aimed at improving access to the countryside for urban dwellers.

- Communities and Local Government has pledged £50m to local authorities in London to help promote community cohesion over the next three years.
