Work Wise: Funding Briefs

Gypsy and Traveller children in Wales are to benefit from 1.5m, which will provide families with new accommodation and better access to essential services. www.wales.gov.uk

The Northern Rock Foundation has awarded over £1m to 15 organisations in the North East and Cumbria. Charities to benefit include Barnardo's, which received £80,000 to tackle child trafficking. www.nr-foundation.org.uk

The Gannett Foundation Fund, the charitable arm of Wiltshire's Gazette and Herald, is to award grants of up to £50,000 to local charities. www.gazetteandherald.co.uk

The Ulster-Scots Agency in Northern Island has received £3m for the next three years. The cash will pay for summer schools, after-school clubs and music or dance tuition for young people. www.northernireland.gov.uk.
