School children in Scotland are to benefit from a 1m investmentinto local sports facilities. SportScotland has committed the cash toupdating several synthetic and grass pitches across the country.
The Big Lottery Fund has awarded 67.5m to 201 play organisations.The Birmingham Play Portfolio received cash for 14 projects and 13m is to be shared between play projects in the 21 London boroughs.
Gloucestershire County Council has pledged more than 1m to helpchildren and young people in flood-affected areas. Projects to benefitinclude Parentline Plus, which will provide guidance to affectedfamilies.
