Work Wise: Funding briefs

Scottish community groups are being invited to apply for grants of between 500 and 3,000 to help low-income families improve their diets. Deadline for applications is 27 June 2008.

- The Children's House Out of School Club in North East Lincolnshire has been awarded almost £8,000 by the Humber Rural Delivery Pathfinder programme. The cash will fund a new play worker and resources.

- Birmingham YMCA has been awarded £1.5m from the government's Places of Change Programme. The money will fund a new community centre, with facilities such as a music studio, gym and chill-out space.

- The Department for Children, Schools and Families has awarded The Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children £340,000 to provide schools with training materials to support children who stammer.
