School children in Scotland are to benefit from a £1m investment into local sports facilities. SportScotland has committed the cash to updating several synthetic and grass pitches across the country.
The Big Lottery Fund has awarded £67.5m to 201 play organisations. The Birmingham Play Portfolio received cash for 14 projects and £13m is to be shared between play projects in the 21 London boroughs.
Gloucestershire County Council has pledged more than £1m to help children and young people in flood-affected areas. Projects to benefit include Parentline Plus, which will provide guidance to affected families.
