Funding £42,000 a year from the Youth Crime Action
Plan Aim To ensure young people in north Salford have a safe place to go
A group of teenagers managed to keep their local youth centre open thanks to a new project under the government's Youth Crime Action Plan (YCAP).
North Salford Youth Centre in Broughton was closed for six weeks after rising levels of antisocial behaviour led to a knife being brought into the venue.
During the closure, Wesley Williams and Taylor Murray, both 14, Andrew Cull, 15, and Bradley Anderson, 16, met on a mobile youth bus funded by the YCAP for in-depth discussions with youth workers, called the WUU2 Bus (What are you up to in Salford?).
