The National Youth Agency: Trustees line up to join NYA

Over 100 people have applied to The National Youth Agency to join its board of trustees.

Chief executive Fiona Blacke said: "I am absolutely delighted. The really humbling thing is the range and quality of people prepared to give up their time to work with us.

"About a quarter of the applicants are between 15 and 30, many new to trusteeship and others rising stars in their own field. They also come from every aspect of our business and some are extremely high profile.

"As you can imagine the task of sifting through these applications and identifying a shortlist of about 25, of whom a third are young people, has been really challenging. We will interview 25 and appoint a potent mixture of 12."
