The theme was chosen by The NYA's executive board as a means of focusing on two of the basic reasons why young people engage with youth work - to have fun and to learn things.
Events planned for the week range from a national conference on environmental youth work held at The Source, Meadowhall, Sheffield and organised by Sheffield Wildlife Trust, to a Youth Arts Day that will see young people from Leicestershire take over Loughborough Town Hall for a day of workshops and a showcase event.
Essex Youth Service is among those organisations that have timetabled a full programme of events, with a range of achievement award ceremonies being held across its districts, open evenings and launch events such as a youth club cook book One foot in the gravy and a Retro Night, organised by Brentwood Youth Council as a fundraising event for their nominated charity of the year.
