The conference offers an opportunity to analyse and discuss the significance of Transforming Youth Work, Every Child Matters and the youth green paper for detached youth work. Key themes include the importance of detached youth work for supporting young people's learning in their own environment and how their voices can influence the development of strategies aimed at alleviating social exclusion. The conference will be addressed by leading youth work academics, managers and practitioners and aims to inform the green paper's consultation phase.
The conference will be held on 12 April 2005 at the Athena Conference Centre in Leicester between 10.30am and 4.00pm. Contact Sheetal Sevak at sheetals@nya. org.uk or phone on 0116 242 7490.
