The National Youth Agency: Contribution of youth work to betterservices

1 min read

Each of the papers concentrates on one of the Every Child Matters outcomes, giving an overview of government policy, drawing on academic research and providing examples of effective youth work practice.

The first of the new titles, written for The NYA by Alan France, Liz Sutton, Adriana Sandu and Amanda Waring, looks at "making a positive contribution". It says a policy focus on developing a more co-ordinated approach to helping young people in this area is a significant development in youth policy.

The second paper, again by France and Sutton, looks at "staying safe". It says that, while the core objective is safeguarding, it also impacts on good health, making a positive contribution, being able to achieve and enjoy life, and to be economically active.
