NEIGHBOURHOOD SUPPORT FUND - ASPIRE
Location: Middlesbrough
PROJECT
Part of the Safe in Tees Valley partnership which brings community safety and crime-prevention projects together, Aspire works with 13 to 14-year-olds referred by four schools in the Whinney Banks area of Middlesbrough.
The project provides an intensive programme of interventions designed to build confidence, increase aspirations and encourage learning. Recent work included a fire safety project where young people conducted a survey with local people and helped to fit smoke alarms in homes.
