Neighbourhood Support Fund - African Caribbean Achievement Project
Location: Bradford
THE PROJECT
Working with young people of African Caribbean origin, ACAP aims to engage those at risk of exclusion in a programme of personal and social development. Young people are able to identify and address barriers to their learning and development through individual action plans, accreditation, residentials and volunteering opportunities. The project also provides positive role models and has a well-established link with the African and Caribbean communities in the locality. To date, 77 per cent of those young people who have left the projects have subsequently gone on to education, training and employment.
