After my GCSEs, I worked in an office for two years, but it wasn't for me.

I've always wanted to work in childcare, but I wasn't able to get a job without the qualifications and I couldn't get the qualifications without first getting a work placement. Then I saw Lewisham Council was offering apprenticeships, so I applied and I got one working in early years. This has made it all possible for me. I'm learning and earning. I can't believe my luck.

Once a month, I attend a course as part of my NVQ in childcare development. We're learning about how important it is for children to play and finding out how to get children more involved and how to enhance their play activities.
