How did they do it? The students were awarded a grant from Islington Council's Edible Islington fund, which exists to help local community projects grow their own food. To get ready for the scheme, students visited local allotments to learn about food growing and preparation.
Anything else? The students will be preparing their produce for sale, so Islington Healthy Schools have run workshops with the group to teach them about hygiene and food safety. What do local people think? Councillor Ruth Polling, Islington Council's executive member for leisure, says: "It's fantastic to see these entrepreneurial students taking an interest in growing their own food and learning about running a business."
