- 76% of looked-after children were subject to care orders (65 per cent in England)
- 17% of looked-after children are in care as a result of disability (four per cent in England)
- 0 per cent of care leavers achieve five GCSEs at grade A*-C (six per cent in England)
Only Rutland and the Isles of Scilly have a lower proportion of looked-after children in England than Wokingham. The affluent unitary authority in Berkshire has only 60 children in care.
Very few children are in care homes and none at all under the age of 10: in England two per cent of looked-after children are in this position. However, the educational achievement of the children in Wokingham's care is very disappointing.
