Annette Brooke, the party's spokesperson for children and families, saidshe was "100 per cent behind" the This is Not a Suitcase campaign by ANational Voice.
And she said she would be pushing all councils where the party hadcontrol or a strong presence to sign up to a charter to end thepractice. "This is something we could be doing, at least in councilswere we have a strong influence," said Brooke, speaking at a meetingorganised by the British Association for Adoption and Fostering at theparty's annual conference.
A National Voice wants to get more than half of councils signed upbefore its third bin bag fashion show on 27 October. It currently has 52signed up (Children Now, 21-27 September).
