The Futures centre, which opened last week, has had a 271,000facelift and facilities now include an IT training suite, kitchen and a27-inch flatscreen TV. It also contains dedicated areas such as meetingrooms.
The centre will provide a fortnightly drop-in session for care leaverswith a social worker and looked-after children's nurse on hand. Advicewill also be given on housing and accommodation, education andemployment.
Conservative councillor Robert Kinghorn, Hounslow's lead member forchildren, said: "Leaving home at 16 would be a daunting prospect for anyyoung person. The work being done by the Futures' team is helping makethe transition to adulthood a less anxious time."
