Social Care News: Adoption - BAAF web site to find more families

More than 100 extra children a year look set to be adopted when a web site launches in 2007.

The British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) has received360,452 from the Big Lottery Fund for its Finding Families forChildren project. The money will pay for the development of the web siteand support initial running costs.

The web site will profile children waiting to be adopted and provideclear information about the realities of adoption.

"We did a feasibility study last year, demonstrating the value of usingthe internet to find more families and consulting internet safetyexperts," said Felicity Collier, BAAF's chief executive.
