Social Care News: Adoption - Voluntary agencies need more funding

More ringfenced funding to support voluntary adoption agencies is needed, BAAF Adoption & Fostering has claimed as details of inter-agency fees from April 2005 are published.

BAAF's chief executive, Felicity Collier, said voluntary adoption agencies made a great difference and helped place children with some of the most complex needs. "There should never be a cost barrier for finding families for children," she added. The new fees apply to all placements for adoption or newly arranged permanent fostering made on or after 1 April.
