The findings, presented to a BAAF Adoption & Foster-ing conference on Monday (7 March), are the result of a survey of readers of BAAF's family finding newspaper, Be My Parent, during last year's National Adoption Week.
Although seven per cent of readers thought the idea of an open web site was unacceptable, 84 per cent said they would be keen to use it if the web site had secure, controlled access.
Felicity Collier, chief executive of BAAF, said using photographs of children helped to generate enquiries. "We are looking very carefully at how we can use the internet to make a difference and are consulting with internet safety experts," she said.
