Rochdale Borough Council has seen the percentage of its care leavers in education, employment or training at the age of 19 rise by an impressive 30 per cent.

2004 England average 55.4% Rochdale 50%

2005 England average 59.1 Rochdale 66.7%

2006 England average 63.4% Rochdale 76.9%

2007 England average 63% Rochdale 70.7%

2008 England average 64.9% Rochdale 80%

Over a period of four years, Rochdale Borough Council has seen the percentage of its care leavers in education, employment or training at the age of 19 rise by an impressive 30 per cent.

Within its multi-agency young people's support team, the council has employed a dedicated member of staff to provide support for training, education and employment.
