Brighton and Hove has committed to improving the standards of accommodation and support offered to young people who are leaving the council's care.
The latest figures show that 97.3 per cent of 19-year-old care leavers in the authority were deemed to be living in suitable accommodation, an improvement on the 80.6 per cent in 2006.
Dermot Anketell, manager of the authority's 16 Plus Support Team, says the joint protocol between the children and young people's trust, which includes all children's services and the housing department, is key to the improvement.
