Scotland: Protest over asylum child detentions

Scotland's children's commissioner plans to meet up with Des Browne, the Home Office minister responsible for immigration, to voice her disapproval about the detention of children of asylum seekers at the Dungavel immigration centre.

Kathleen Marshall has already met Anne McGuire, parliamentary undersecretary for Scotland at the Department for Constitutional Affairs, to discuss her concerns. The issue is reserved to Westminster. "There is a lot of public concern but my focus is to talk about it from the rights of the child," she said.
