Schools Finance (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2010

The government is seeking views on amendments to the Schools Finance (England) Regulations 2008.

The regulations will principally cover the requirement for all local authorities to implement the Early Years Single Funding Formula from 1 April 2010, to fund all providers of the free entitlement to nursery education for three- and four-year-olds. Other proposals include changes to financial weightings for local authorities when pupils undertake a diploma at a school different to their main one.

Local authorities will also be required to publish their financial management schemes. The amendments combine funding for maintained providers with those for private, voluntary and independent providers. They are dependent upon a clause in the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learners Bill, which is set to receive Royal Assent in November.
