Connexions North London knew housing and homelessness was one of the main barriers to progression in learning for many older teenagers. Although it had staff working in housing services and other voluntary sector agencies, the organisation felt it needed a specialist partner to help it deal with young people with homelessness issues.
The solution
Connexions North London already had a partnership with Forest YMCA, which had a network of partnerships with other voluntary organisations and a well-established relationship with local housing services. The starting point was to establish the reasons why Forest YMCA was the right organisation to build on this partnership.
