Chief police officer Terry Grange says: "If you prosecute each and every time a boy has sex with a girl under 16 and above 12, then we'd be in schools and youth clubs across Britain pretty regularly." Talk about the point he is making. Do young people agree?

The law does not define paedophile. The word is Greek for "lover of children".

It is now a red-top tabloid hate word - which is often abbreviated just to "paedo". Is it really that helpful to have these labels? Do they need to be accurate to be meaningful?

Many people think a 40-year-old man who has sex with an 11-year-old is a paedophile. Should the same word be used for a 17-year-old boy who has sex with a 15-year-old girl?
