Although a relatively small charity, it assists more than 500,000 sickchildren by providing entertainment every day in hospitals and hospicesthroughout the UK as well as granting "wishes of a lifetime" to childrenwho are seriously or terminally ill.
What is on offer: The foundation offers support in two ways: wishes andhospital entertainment.
Wishes can be granted to children between four and 18 years old. Thecharity has never said no to granting a wish, no matter howextraordinary it is. Starlight always involves the whole family, givingthem happy memories, whatever the future may hold.
The foundation's hospital entertainment programme offers: distractionboxes; parties, pantomimes and outings; and fun centres (mobileentertainment units incorporating a TV, Nintendo GameCube, and a videoand DVD player).
