Funding The foundation offers support in two ways: wishes and hospital entertainment. Wishes can be granted to children between four and 18 years old. The charity has never said no to granting a wish, no matter how extraordinary it is. Starlight always involves the whole family, giving them happy memories, whatever the future may hold. The foundation's hospital entertainment programme offers: distraction boxes; parties, pantomimes and outings; and fun centres (mobile entertainment units incorporating a TV, Nintendo GameCube, and a video and DVD player).
Funder The Starlight Children's Foundation was founded by Emma Samms 20 years ago. Although a relatively small charity, it assists more than 500,000 sick children by providing entertainment every day in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK as well as granting "wishes of a lifetime" to children who are seriously or terminally ill.
