How much is on offer: In 2005 the foundation gave grants worth a totalof 20.2m to 313 organisations. Funds are distributed throughseveral programmes and last between one and three years.
What it will fund: The foundation funds projects that operate in Cumbriaand/or the North East of England. The types of project supported dependon the programme.
There are currently seven programmes: Strong and Healthy Communities,backing public health work; the Safety and Justice programme; the Moneyand Jobs programme; a programme to help improve choice for people withmental illness or learning disabilities called Independence and Choice;the self-esteem and anti-discrimination themed Building Positive Livesprogramme; a Culture and Heritage programme; and the Better Buildingsfund.
