Resources: Funding focus - Hilton in the Community

1 min read

What does it support? It will support humanitarian relief at times of disasters, but its main focus is on supporting the education and health of young people aged under 25. Grants must be for specific projects rather than general appeals. Under the education heading, grants are likely to cover training, educational equipment, activity-based learning, sports equipment, transport and - occasionally - costs of project staff. Health funding will generally be given for medical equipment, care facilities, activity- based holidays, awareness and prevention campaigns, hospices and, again occasionally, costs of project staff. In recent years organisations that have benefited range from Fairbridge to Edinburgh Scout Council, disability charity Whizz-Kidz and homelessness charity Crisis. Just to be clear, the foundation does not arrange free or reduced rate hotel accommodation, though you could be lucky and win some vouchers that you can use in a charity raffle or auction.
