Grants for organisations that support disadvantaged young people up to the age of 25

What is it? Hilton in the Community Foundation was set up in 2000 as Hilton Worldwide’s charitable trust in Europe. The foundation funds organisations that support disadvantaged young people up to the age of 25, focusing mainly on those with disabilities, in hospital, in hospices or the homeless. It aims to improve healthcare provision and the ?quality of education for young people across the UK and Ireland. The trust has raised ?and donated more than £8m since it was founded. The foundation’s income is generated largely through fundraising initiatives ?run by Hilton Worldwide.

How much is on offer? The foundation will not make awards of more than £30,000 a year. Funding can be requested for up to two years. The charity’s latest figures show that 350 organisations benefited from £1.6m last year across Europe. Recipients included Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, which received £25,590 towards the costs of its Great Ormond Street Hospital Shuttle and Baby Pod, and the Springboard Charitable Trust in London, which gained £20,000 to deliver its Galvin’s Chance programme, securing training and career opportunities in the hospitality industry to disadvantaged young people.

What will it fund? It offers funding for capital costs, which can include equipment, refurbishment, residential programmes, facilities, training, and workshops. Applications are accepted from registered charities and organisations that meet its chosen areas of focus.

When is the deadline? There are monthly deadlines, although eligible applications received after them will be retained for the next funding round. Email and hard copy applications are required.
