Hilton in the Community Foundation

1 min read Youth Work
What it is? The charitable trust for Hilton Hotels. It focuses on young people and supports projects to relieve suffering and equip individuals. Operating under the banner "Supporting Young People Worldwide", it gives grants to small charities that might be overlooked.

How much is on offer? Hilton funds the central administration costs of the foundation so that every net £1 and euro raised goes directly to help young people. Generally the foundation does not make awards of more than £50,000 a year.

What will it fund? The foundation funds projects that help deprived children and young people under 25 with the overall aim of enhancing access to formal and informal education and ensuring they receive appropriate health interventions. This includes young people with physical and learning disabilities, those who have suffered abuse and neglect or are homeless and at risk.

Who has it funded? Last year, the foundation donated more than £1.2m to numerous good causes, including the Make a Wish Foundation and Dogs for the Disabled. It gave £2,700 to the St Michael's Youth Project band in Wembley, which runs music workshops for young people.
